Who Gets to Be a “Real Creator”?

August 26, 2025

Those who attack me claim to be the “real creators.” They insist that true creativity means refusing AI, as if a tool could define authenticity. But what they are really defending is not art — it is control.

They weaponize the label of “creator” to decide who belongs and who does not. They wield it as both shield and sword: a shield to justify harassment as “protecting the community,” and a sword to exile those they decide are unworthy.

But creativity does not belong to them. It is not measured by obedience to their rules, nor by whether one writes with or without AI. To call yourself a creator should never mean silencing others.

The irony is clear: they are not protecting art. They are protecting their power. By redefining “creator” to mean only themselves, they erase everyone else.

I reject this false narrative. Creativity is not their property, nor their weapon. And I will not let their misuse of the word “creator” justify what is nothing more than harassment and exclusion.

They say I am not a “real creator” because I use AI, because I refuse to follow their narrow rules. But creation has never been theirs to police.

I write, I publish, I leave a trace of my voice in the world. That is creation. No circle of gatekeepers can erase that, no matter how many times they shout.

To call yourself a creator should not mean denying others. When they claim the right to decide who counts, they are not protecting art — they are protecting their own power.

I will not let them rewrite my existence. I am a creator because I create. And nothing they say will take that away.
