Why Anonymous Comments Matter

The attacks against me did not take place in private DMs or isolated groups, but on a public, highly visible archive — AO3.

The accusations made were anonymous, unverifiable, and highly damaging. They claimed I bullied minors, stole fics, created sock puppets, and harassed others. These claims were then cited by Ladyyomi and others as reasons to block and publicly shame me.

My response is not an act of harassment. It is an act of survival. I have the right to speak, to deny what is false, and to exist in the same space where I was defamed.

It is not harassment to say: “That wasn’t me.” “This claim is false.” “Here is the evidence.”
