Kazama Chikage appears across romance routes, shared scenes, prequels, animation, audio dramas and short prose. This guide follows that material by medium, showing what each release carries and where later editions add or collect it. Coverage is selective and updated through 11 September 2026; announced future productions are noted separately.
Dates refer to releases, rather than the age of every scene they contain. Some early texts are known here through later editions; their original wording is not assumed to be identical. Merchandise and illustration without narrative fall outside this guide. Live-action adaptations — musicals, TV dramas and film — with commercial DVD or Blu-ray releases are covered in a separate section; unreleased live performance is not included.
Games
The 40 entries below include ports and compilations, so they do not represent 40 separate stories. Dates follow the publisher's title archive and the product records used in the bibliography.
2008–2012
-
新選組奇譚 (PS2) (2008-09-18). His hidden romance route, one of six. The text considered here is preserved in later editions; the 2008 disc was not directly compared.
-
薄桜鬼 ポータブル (PSP) (2009-08-27). His route, plus the first-person novella 飽くなきもの in 遺聞 戦友絵巻.
-
随想録 (PS2) (2009-08-27). Five 恋情想起 episodes and 事件想起 二, known through later editions.
-
薄桜鬼 DS (2010-03-18). His route and participation in the added voiced quiz. The quiz is recorded speech rather than a narrative episode.
-
遊戯録 (PSP) (2010-05-13). A festival scene involving the heroine's wishes.
-
巡想録 (PS3) (2010-06-17). Collects the original game and 随想録. Four oni-centred 戦友絵巻 stories were offered as downloads; identification with the paired novellas remains an inference.
-
随想録 ポータブル (PSP) (2010-08-26). Adds his 事件想起 三, 送り火, to the earlier fan disc.
-
黎明録 (PS2) (2010-10-28). The scenes listed under the 2011 PSP edition belong to this prequel line. Their individual presence in the 2010 disc has not been directly verified; their attribution to it rests on the port-addition records.
-
随想録 DS (2011-02-17). Includes four oni-centred 戦友絵巻 stories, provisionally identified with the paired novellas, and his passage in the map feature 薄桜鬼紀行.
-
遊戯録 DS (2011-04-28). Carries the festival material. Added karuta and alarm voices are recorded speech rather than new narrative episodes.
-
黎明録 ポータブル (PSP) (2011-07-28). The examined version: three Serizawa-route scenes, one common-route bad ending, two 幕末講義録 chapters and two 十六夜挿話.
-
薄桜鬼 3D (3DS) (2011-11-24). His route; the limited-edition drama is listed under game bonuses below.
-
幕末無双録 (PSP) (2012-03-22). Playable in both modes. His chapter closes the six-chapter original story; the other mode retells the main game. No substantial divergence is recorded for the retelling mode; brief additions remain unresolved.
-
黎明録 DS (2012-04-26). Carries the prequel material. Its added sections do not establish a new narrative episode of his.
-
黎明録 名残り草 (PS3) (2012-06-28). Carries the prequel material; no additional narrative of his is established in the added sections.
-
遊戯録弐 祭囃子と隊士達 (PSP) (2012-10-18). A 桜下恋語り conversation; a separate Stellaworth story booklet is listed below.
2013–2014
-
懐古録 (mobile) (2013, issued by volume). An episodic work, not a route-based game. He appears in volumes 一, 三, 六, 七, 九, 十 and 終巻; 九 centres on him. Examined through the 2023 collection.
-
裏語 薄桜鬼 (PSP) (2013-06-27). Two located scenes, one each in the Takasugi and Katsura routes, and a related rumour quest. The nameplate behaves differently in the two scenes. No further appearance was found in the surveyed recordings.
-
鏡花録 (PSV) (2013-12-19). His route and an outcome of the added shared scene 雨下語り, examined in the 2023 collection.
-
懐古録 (PC) (2014-03-06). Carries the same seven volumes in which he appears.
-
薄桜鬼 for iOS & Android (2014-03-06). His route, a branch of the added scenario 茶会代理始末, and the 遺聞 novellas.
-
SSL (PSV) (2014-03-27). One of six main romance routes. His route and epilogue are supplemented by common scenes, appearances in other routes and nine emails from him.
-
裏語 薄桜鬼~暁の調べ~ (PSP) (2014-08-07). A credit-level entry. Secondary sources report his name in the staff roll alongside the five Shinsengumi captains, but his particular scenes have not been located in the surveyed material. One of the game's three story lines remains unseen.
2015–2018
-
随想録 面影げ花 (PSV) (2015-02-19). Carries the earlier fan-disc material with its 2009 art.
-
黎明録 思馳せ空 (PSV) (2015-07-02). Carries the prequel material with its 2010 art. The text was examined in the 2011 port; this edition's own additions are not established here.

-
真改 華ノ章 (PSV) (2016-06-16). His romance route in the second half of the remake.

-
真改 華ノ章 (PC) (2018-03-15). Carries his material from the second remake half.

2019–2024
-
真改 月影ノ抄 (Switch) (2019-09-26). Eight route episodes and an epilogue. Two separate bonus booklets each contain a first-person piece of his.
-
真改 銀星ノ抄 (Switch) (2020-07-30). He has no romance route. A shared scene of the three oni at an inn is attributed to this release in the record, but the underlying note dates it to 2019; its allocation between the two fan discs remains unresolved.
-
真改 黎明録 (Switch) (2021-08-26). Adds his 文久心覚え piece to the prequel line; the limited-edition drama is listed under game bonuses below.
-

-
遊戯録 大宴会 for Switch (2024-03-28). Carries the earlier minigame collection; separately issued booklets accompany this edition.

Live-action adaptations
This section covers musicals and live-action TV / film adaptations with commercial DVD or Blu-ray releases. Kazama's participation is identified where supported by cast documentation; an unresolved entry is explicitly qualified. None of these productions has been viewed for this guide; dates, formats and cast names are drawn from publisher announcements and retailer listings. Unreleased live performances are not included. Song collections and original-soundtrack albums are not counted as independent narratives.
Musicals
Since 2012, Marvelous has produced a musical series (ミュージカル薄桜鬼) adapted from the games. The list below covers narrative performance releases, including the 2015 黎明録 with Kazama's participation unresolved. Two concert-event releases (HAKU-MYU LIVE, 2014; HAKU-MYU LIVE 2, 2016) also list him, but these are song-based live events without continuous narrative and are not counted here. Cast names are checked against the publisher's official production and product pages; a combined catalogue covering the first series and 原田左之助 篇 is at the disco page.

Web radio DJCD series
薄桜鬼WEBラジオ 新選組通信 was a free web radio programme on Animate TV (2009–2010), hosted by Miki Shinichirō with rotating voice-actor guests. Its commercially released DJCD compilations, titled 新選組通信録, run to twelve volumes (第一集–第十二集, 2009-10-29 → 2011-03-03; Otomate goods page). The earlier volumes pair the main radio compilation (voice-actor talk, not narrative) with a bonus disc carrying an original in-character mini-drama. The twelfth and last volume is different: its bonus is a video record of the closing live broadcast (purchase report, 2011-03-03) — a record of an event, not a written piece, and not counted here.
The bonus drama series is titled 怒られ隊士 (later volumes shift to 慰められ隊士). Two of them are his: Volume 7 (2010-07-22) carries 「怒る鬼・風間千景編」 (auction record; catalogue entry), and Volume 11 carries 「慰める鬼・風間編」, with Tsuda Kenjirou in the cast (item listing).
Other recordings
-
オトメイトCDBOOK 第壱巻 (Hifumi Shobō, 2010). A book-bound release including an original drama 士魂盲進の影 and voice-actor talk; Tsuda Kenjirou is named in the cast. Otomate announcement

Print and short prose
Books and adaptations
-
新選組奇譚 (2009) and 随想録 (2010) story books print the game scripts; his original route falls in 新選組奇譚 下. The volumes were not consulted here.
-
黎明録 (2011) recomposes the scenarios into a three-volume novelisation. Inclusion of the particular scenes listed under the game is unconfirmed.
-
Yajima Sara's Beads Log Bunko novels comprise eight volumes. Kazama appears from volume 2; volume 6, 雪華録 ~明~, includes a chapter from the oni's viewpoint.
-
Comic adaptations include works by Ninomiya Sachi and Hiraku Nagi, Junrenka, and adaptations of 雪華録 and 黎明録. His presence has not been checked volume by volume. The anthology 沖田・原田・風間編 (2011) names him explicitly.
戦友絵巻: magazine stories collected in books and games
Two first-person pieces appear in the 2010 collection 公式物語絵巻 ~桜花風塵~: 飽くなきもの and 狂い咲く花の如く, the latter headed 土方×風間. Both were examined in the Japanese text of 万葉ノ抄 (2023).
飽くなきもの also appears in the 2009 PSP game's 遺聞 module. The publisher traces four oni-centred stories in 随想録 DS to the magazine serial and earlier 巡想録 downloads, but identifying those four with the paired novellas remains an inference. Publisher description.
Booklets, inserts and magazine pieces
These shorter works include standalone stories, reprints and texts known only through listings. The distinction matters where a piece has not been read in Japanese.

Announced production: 2026
- ミュージカル『薄桜鬼 真改』黎明録 — scheduled for 2026-10-16–25 at Tennozu Galaxy Theatre, Tokyo. This is a forthcoming production, separate from the 2015 musical; it is not counted among the releases above. Official production site; Casting announcement.
Reading across versions
A later release can revise, collect or simply reproduce a text. Otomate describes Shinkai as a substantial recomposition made with the fan disc and prequel already in view. Conversely, the 2023 compilation date does not establish when every story in it first appeared. Otomate on Shinkai.
A separate set of content notes discusses the prequel’s viewpoints, 裏語’s handling of his name, SSL’s correspondence and the two 月影 booklets. They keep scene interpretation separate from the release record. Japanese text, translations and cast listings support different kinds of claims; the qualifications beside each item indicate those limits.
